Last Friday, we organized Real Life Mario Kart for the first time at the Next Nature Museum (Evoluon). After weeks of testing, building, and fine-tuning, we were finally able to put the concept into practice.
The idea for this activity came from Kaj Cuppen, who has been involved with the Inspiratiebende and Eindhoven Maatjes for some time . Additionally, we would like to thank Samen voor onze Regio for establishing the connection with the Evoluon as the location.
The activity was successful, while simultaneously providing clear insights for improvement. For instance, we see opportunities to make the track more realistic and visually stronger. We will also take into account the need to communicate even more clearly beforehand that these are drivable mini-karts and not real karts.
The try-out confirms that the concept has potential. Both the races and the Balloon Battle were received enthusiastically. Additionally, it was great that the Eindhovens Dagblad was present and published an article about this first edition.
We concluded the day with a visit to the museum in the Evoluon, which was a nice addition to the program.
This leaves us wanting more. We are going to further develop this concept and organize it in multiple locations.
Which locations do you think would be suitable for a next edition of Real Life Mario Kart?
